How to prepare for a funeral with the Wharton Cemetery Association.
Many people ask how to prepare for a funeral with the Wharton Cemetery Association (WCA). The following is provided to help guide you through the process.
Purchase the spaces you require from the WCA. The cost per space is $1950. The cost includes Eternal Care, which includes mowing. We have many spaces available, single and multiple (together).
When you decide it is time, contact your local funeral home for their services. They will pick up your loved one and work with you directly.
Contact the Wharton Funeral Home (https://www.whartonfuneralhome.com/) for internment services. They charge a flat rate for opening and closing the gravesite. You can also have another funeral home contact them for you.
The Wharton Funeral Home will contact the WCA to verify your space(s).
The WCA will review their records and confirm your space(s) with the funeral home. A time will be set with both entities and the family for the internment.
An official from the funeral home is required by law to be present at the internment. This is included in the funeral home charges.
The owner of the space(s) will have the option to purchase artificial turf to cover the gravesite. This provides a beautiful scape that will last many years.
We will work with you to help you through this process. Contact us at our email address or phone number. We are a volunteer organization and do not maintain an office staff. Please be patient with us to return you inquiries.
Please review the Rules and Regulations section for information regarding our historic cemetery.
